Affordable Home Improvements Helps Homeless
Throughout 2015, Affordable Home Improvements will be donating 3% of its profits from all remodeling projects, to benefit Phoenix Children’s Hospital’s Crews’n Healthmobile. Affordable Home Improvements (AHI) is fully licensed, bonded and insured residential contracting company specializing in home remodeling, restoration and repair.
The Phoenix Children’s Hospital Crews’n Healthmobile Program is dedicated to providing hope and holistic healthcare with respect and heart to homeless and at-risk children and youth. Initially, the program consisted of a 38-foot Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) that took to the streets offering free, comprehensive medical care, financial advocacy, and social services to children and youth victimized by homelessness and those at highest risk to become homeless.
Since it took to the streets 14 years ago, the MMU has provided services through more than 29,000 patient visits with a variety of conditions ranging from open wounds, rape, pregnancy, insect infestations, upper respiratory illnesses, skin infections, strained and sprained extremities, sexually transmitted illnesses, asthma, dehydration, chest pain with ECG changes, diabetes, hypertension, depression, and obesity.
